Why the Chest Overlay Needs Testing

Combining different fabric panels requires more development work than producing a single-fabric hoodie. The sample should be checked for:

• Stretch balance between the chest and sleeves
• Smoothness of the fused panel edge
• Puckering around the horizontal seam
• Colorfastness between light and dark panels
• Zipper alignment
• Hood-to-neckline transition
• Fabric shrinkage after washing
• Range of motion through the golf swing

If the chest overlay is significantly less flexible than the sleeves, the garment may feel restrictive during rotation. Panel dimensions should therefore be approved through a fit sample rather than from appearance alone.
