It is less suitable when the hoodie must tolerate frequent washing, aggressive branding or unpredictable replenishment.

It can deliver the smooth, refined character expected from premium knitwear without feeling as delicate or occasion-specific as pure cashmere. For brands building a core golf layer rather than a small luxury statement, that balance is important.

The blend still changes the product direction.

A 100% Merino golf hoodie gives the brand a clear natural-fiber story. A Merino-cashmere blend moves toward a softer, more lifestyle-oriented position. A Merino-nylon blend usually prioritizes stability, durability and repeatability.

The nylon should solve a defined development problem. It should not be added merely to make the composition look more technical.

Its main risks are shrinkage, garment weight and shape change after washing. A dense cotton waffle can also create a heavy hood that pulls the back neckline out of position.

A performance waffle takes a different route.

Polyester-elastane-dominant constructions normally provide easier recovery and care. Lyocell may improve softness, moisture feel and drape, but it should not be treated as the recovery fiber. When stretch return is required, the elastane content and overall construction need to do that work.
